Trivial Pursuit and Flashback Memories
Emily Bechtel
In last night’s optional fun time, there were four choices: Trivia, Talent Stage, Silent Disco, and Mini Games. However, what is a way to exert those leftover “debate” feelings then use them in a little friendly competition? Why trivia, of course!
The trivia festivities were led by President of the UN General Assembly — Izzy Logsdon — and ICJ President — Eleanor Ickes. When entering the event, Izzy and Eleanor promptly asked “What is your favorite vine?” At first, their audience was hesitant to answer, then the chat started to fill with countless childhood memories of the now “dead” app. The chat also started talking about the music in the background as it was from the quarantine times of March 2020. Often, some of the quarantine music would be skipped as it gave the audience sad flashbacks of the year 2020.
However, when the event began, the players were split into two teams: blue and yellow. The categories were Space, Rawr, Marvel, United Nations, and the 2020 (well 2021) Olympics. The two teams went head to head when discussing the answers and questioned the creator whether an answer was right or wrong.
In the end, after many confused looks on their given but wrong answers, the yellow team won and the blue team left defeated in shame. However, an atmosphere of friendship was formed.
