Thank a volunteer

We all see what happens at the conference. The debating, cheering, presenting, and passing or defeating of bills. However, we don’t always see what goes on behind the scenes. All of the preparation put in by schools and the YMCA. Since we don’t always see this, the advisors and YMCA staff don’t always get the thanks’ they deserve. Students from all grades have taken the time to say thank you to their advisors and the Y.

Junior Lexie Overstreet wanted to take the time to thank her advisors, Erin Fortney and Maria Tabb, and the Y-staff. “I want to give a big thank you to Mrs. Fortney, Mrs. Tabb, and the Y staff! They do so much for us. My sponsors constantly support me and encourage me. I can not be more appreciative of all they do for my delegation and I. The Y staff is also awesome for pulling off such amazing conferences year after year.”

Hannah Limbong, first year freshman, said “Thank you for the amazing Y staff who have taken their time to enrich and support us. They have made this experience so memorable. It is indeed indescribable of how much I am thankful for giving all of us this opportunity to express ourselves and interests/passions. We love you and will always be appreciative for all you’ve done.”

To conclude, while debating is the final presentation of all the preparation that has happened over the last few weeks or months, we really need to take the time to thank all staff. We would not be able to accomplish everything we do throughout the conference without the help of all of our advisors and the Y staff. After today, please take the time to thank your staff members for everything they do.
