By: Joseph Coffey
checkOne thing is inevitable at every KUNA conference, the agonizing check-in process. This trial of emotions cannot be avoided by any delegation. This process has affected the conferences in the past, it is currently affecting us today, and it will continue to affect us in the future. It has prevailed to hinder the initial strides of every KUNA attendee to start acting as if they were from the countries they are representing. Although this process is excruciating, it is in place to assist us all. The check-in may keep us from gaining immediate access to the hotel rooms but it allows us to mingle amongst one another. This time period, if utilized correctly, can allow New friendships to blossom, candidates to campaign, and for new delegates to get a taste of the beautiful chaos that makes up KUNA. At first glance, the check-in may seem annoying, but in all actuality, it is the first official event at every KUNA. Overall, the check-in process is not only essential for the conference to exist, but it is the catalyst that sparks the reaction between schools that allows KUNA to be as enjoyable as it is.
