The Constitution is the fundamental foundation of American politics and, has influenced and inspired other nations in their movement towards democracy. At The Kentucky Youth Assembly, we are building the future of our nation with inspiring the next generation of politicians, journalists, lobbyists, and voters to instill in them that they have a voice and the freedom to express that voice.

Commonwealth bill number 3 is an act relating to the calling of a convention among states to ratify Article V of the Constitution of the United States of America. In this bill author, Jackson Willams expresses his concern to call the states together to debate about how the founding fathers set the processes for how our federal government to amend the Constitution. Williams got major criticism for his fellow delegates from the committee some saying that the bill was useless and it is not an issue that we as a commonwealth should be considered also, that this is a national issue among the states that the true issue is to benefit the commonwealth of Kentucky. Even though he faced major criticism some delegates supported this bill saying that this would be good for our nation to discuss the raw issues of our government and hope to change somethings that could not just be for Kentucky but our still-growing nation.

Furthermore, even though this bill has its highs and lows debate is a very useful tool for the states to discuss issues with each other not just in Congress or is there own state legislatures. Together as one United nation to make discussions that well better the future for further generations.
